ROBOXを購入してから5か月
自分でモデルを作ってみることにしました。理由はESP-WROOM-02で作ったサーモグラフィーが気に入っていたから。
こんな趣味を持っている人間にとって、思い通りのインサートカバーが作れたらすごい幸せですよね。 せっかく3Dプリンタを持ってるのだから、他人の作った間に合わせの物なんて.....。 押し出しだけのモデルでも、かなり面白い実在感のあるデザインができるような気がしたのは、このモデルをプリントした時。
いいでしょ。これだと曲面を使ってないので層の段差は目立たないし、何より美しいと思いません？
ただこれは、他の人が作ったもの。やっぱり自分で気に入ったものを作りたい。
で、作ってみたのがこれ。（Lepton赤外線カメラホルダーです）
で、ESP-WROON-02とLEPTON赤外線カメラを入れてみると。バッチリ！！
ついでにカメラホルダーと、バッテリーホルダーもノリで作っちゃいました。
バッテリーホルダーにカメラを置けば、カメラを下向きにしたり、
上向きにしたりできちゃいます。
当然サーモカメラは、持ち出し可能。
舞台裏はこんな感じ.....。
ソフトは、実質タダのFusion 360。慣れるまで少し大変でしたが、コツがつかめればこっちのものです。ポップな感じが伝わってくるでしょうか？
Roboxはその後順調そのもの。各部のレールの角が取れたのか気持ちよさそうに動いてくれています。
今回使用したのは、すべてABSフィラメントです。ベッドを所定の温度に温めたり冷やしたりする時間がPLAより多くかかりますが、出来上がりがマットで安っぽくならないのが魅力的です。プリント品質はノーマルです。文字の彫り込みなんかも字体を選ぶとくっきりはっきり印刷できますし、何より全体の印刷品質がスバラシイ。
今回のようなボリュームのあるモデル。もっと追求してみる必要があるかもしれません。
以前１万円安でプレオーダーしたデュアルヘッドキッドについて、こんなメールが届いてました。

We thought you might appreciate an update with regards your order for the
Dual Material Head Kit.
You may have seen our official launch of the Dual Material Head at the CES
Show in Las Vegas in January.
We are pleased to let you know that a small number of our customers have
received their Dual Material Head Kit and full production is now well under
way at our factory. There have been some delays caused by the Chinese New
Year holidays but it has been confirmed that a shipment big enough to fulfil
all our backorders, which total nearly 300 will be shipped to us very
shortly.
Therefore we anticipate that we will be able to ship your Dual Material Head
in April.
We shall be shipping the Dual Material Head Kits in date order - the oldest
pre-orders will be shipped first as this is only fair.
If you have purchased the Upgrade Service in order for us to fit the new
head for you, we will be in touch in April also to let you know when you can
return your printer to us.
In the meantime we very much appreciate your continued support and patience
and we hope you continue to enjoy using your Robox.
